Anger Management

Couples get angry. Children get angry. Men and Women get angry. The challenges come in when we use it as a weapon, have difficulties controlling it, and it starts to affect out interactions with people we love and alter our behaviors.

 Anger is an emotion that everyone feels at some point in time. You may not be able to change the person or situation that makes you angry, but you can change how you respond to anger.  The goal of anger management is to learn to control and express anger in a positive and effective way without causing emotional or physical harm to others.

Managing anger is essential for each individual’s well-being. Unresolved anger and uncontrolled anger can result in physical, emotional, and relational difficulties.  Let me help you get your anger under control.

Anger Management Group Therapy:

  • Offers skills to control angry outbursts
  • Doesn't use SHAME or BLAME as a teaching or introspective tactic

 I offer group sessions over 12 weeks to help you explore and resolve your anger and the triggers leading to it. These groups are led by me, a master’s level counselor who guides you through a skill-building workbook as a group. At the end of the course, you will receive a certificate of completion that can be used to support your work on probation, after-care, permanency plan and court orders, if applicable.

 This psycho-educational group is offered as part of my outreach to the community for $45/session. Choice-Based Anger Control Curriculum developed by Dr. Gary Byrd will be used.
